What should be the role of government?
A lively group discussion led by Rabbi Justin Goldstein

According to the preamble of the US Constitution, the job of the government is:

  • To form a more perfect union
  • To establish justice
  • To ensure domestic tranquility
  • To provide for the common defense
  • To promote the general welfare
  • To secure the blessings of liberty.

Well that's clear as mud, no wonder we're all a bit perplexed. So what do you think? Is government too big, too small, too hands-on? Come to think of it, what does the Torah say on the subject?

Come join the party. Enjoy a pint (or glass of tea) and add your voice. Who knows: you just may learn something before it's over. Non-alcoholic options available. Bring a friend!
