Tu BiShvat Seder

A limited number of printed copies will be available at CBI.
CBI will be preparing a “Seder in a Box” with the foods we’ll be tasting during the Seder. Contact the office at admin@bethisraelnc.org or (828) 252-8660 by Wednesday, January 20 to place your order. Boxes will be available for pickup on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 26 and 27.
If you would rather shop for yourself, here are some suggestions (this is not a conclusive list, just use the guidelines of the bold descriptions):
Red and white wine or grape juice – enough for two glasses of each per person
First fruit: hard shell, soft inside. Nuts with shells on them like almonds, walnuts or pistachios. Other options include coconut, pomegranate
Second fruit: soft outside, hard inside. Olives with pits. Also dried dates or other fruit with pits, fresh cherries if available
Third fruit: soft throughout. Dried figs or raisins, seedless grapes or strawberries if available
Fourth fruit: essence or fragrance. Rosemary sprigs, cinnamon sticks, or citrus zest (lemon or lime)
